Dark City (1988)

9 out of 10 stars for an a great sci-fi/fantasy film

Movie Review:

I’ve seen this film several times before, and each time, I notice more and more things, I haven’t seen before. It’s a movie that makes you wonder what is going on, more than a few times, and that’s why I love it.

The cast has a few well-knowns in it: Kiefer Sutherland (24, The Lost Boys), Jennifer Connelly (Requiem for a Dream, A Beautiful Mind), and Richard O’Brien (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Elvira’s Haunted Hills) to name a few.

I would definitely rate this a must-watch! And a must re-watch while I’m at it

The House of the Devil (2009)

7.5 out of 10 stars for an a decent well-shot indie film

Movie Review:

*WARNING SPOILERS MAY BE BELOW*

I remember hearing about this film back in film school and I’ve been wanting to check it out since it came to theatres way back in 2009. Now that it’s on Netflix, I decided to give it a viewing.

It is a very well-made film and looks like it was made in the 1980’s, the style/era the filmmakers were aiming for. Acting was quite good. The only thing I felt was weird was the the plot. It started off strong but went either too far or not far enough. It felt awkward towards the end.
